What We Believe

At ChurchGate, we stand on the essentials of the historic Christian faith, creating a gate wide enough for the whole family of Christ.

The Essentials

We affirm the historic faith of the Church as expressed in the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds. Specifically, we believe:

  • The Trinity: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His personal return in power and glory.
  • Salvation: We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Holy Scripture: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

ChurchGate does not seek to settle centuries of denominational debate. We believe that while our traditions, liturgies, and secondary theologies may differ, our foundation in Christ is unshakeable. We welcome all who call on the name of the Lord.
